Jerusalem 05/27/08

Jerusalem has 26 layers. That's 26 attempts at building a perfect holy city, and apparently none of them were right. We're still fighting over how to decorate this place.

Roni, our infamous and over-qualified tour guide, said while standing opposite Dome of the Rock:

"And Jesus was a Jew: much success!"

"Why do we call the Jews 'JewISH'? I swear to God we're the only religious people in the world who must be followed by the suffix -ISH. They don't call the Christians ChristianISH, do they!?"

At the Wailing Wall, says Roni, we must view ourselves, Jews, as the ambassadors of the long chain of Jews who could never make it here.

"Hey guys, I got Dome on the Rock"
