A Couple of Important Pages on Health Statistics in Colombia and Surrounding Areas...

Tonight I was thinking to myself: with as much grease and meat as the Colombians eat, with the apparent natural paisa male aversion to anything green, and with the inability to find natural deodorant not filled with aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex on any store shelves, shouldn't Colombians be dying rather early?

I consulted the trusty Pan American Health Organization to find out, and found these two useful pages:

Unfortunately, the English version of the first page is down right now, but a quick look will reveal that the Colombian life expectancy at birth is 68.8 for males, and 75.1 for females. (These figures compare with a median of around 78 in North America, as shown in the second page diagram...)

You do the math, and decide where YOU'D rather live! For now I'll just keep sneaking away my salads at night after 20 ounces of meat daily, and keep walking plenty to hope my heart doesn't suddenly stop!

Enjoy,

S
