Meanwhile in 2011, My Birth State is Suffering...
Bahia's security situation is sliding backward. What in God's name is wrong with Brazil's northeast? What my birth country needs is a federalized but integrated effort to crack down on crime, equivalent to Colombia's Democratic Security Policy initiative under President Uribe. Let's remember that the '14 World Cup will not be held only in Rio, but will be a multi-city affair. Dear governors and mayors from Rio Grande do Sul to Amazonas--it's time to get it together!
